Catalina Yachts and its sister company, True North Yachts, have been acquired by Michael Reardon, founder and CEO of Daedalus Yachts. The acquisition, announced April 30, marks a significant new chapter for two of the most respected names in U.S. boatbuilding.

Wow, that news sort of hit me, like hearing that an old dear friend passed away. I've been sailing on Catalina's (mine or my parent's) for over 45 years, since I was a teen. I know he's been gone for a few years now, but thanks again, and well done to Frank Butler, and let's hope for the best going forward.
