HELP HELP ROUTING WIRE AND A/C COOLING LINE
cker) and stern (transom) so to be practical I had to put the second 30 amp access at both bow and stern. Great, another $75 for the receptacle and another $95 for a second breaker within 3' of each one. Now for the question: I have to run a 12/2 w ground to the lazarette for the power supply and th...

Re: velair a/c size unit
Hey All I'm in the process of installing my Marineaire 16,000 btu a/c unit and I need help. My boat has 30amp power plug in receptacles at both the bow (anchor locker) and stern (transom) so to be practical I had to put the second 30 amp access at both bow and stern. Great, another $75 for the recep...

Re: Winterizing water heater
WOW I found out my boat was plumbed wrong too but on the cold manifold. I took off the red on the end of the red manifold and the blue that was labeled {water heater} to drain the water heater and water came out through the manifold, not from the blue one I unhooked labeled water heater. I cracked t...

Re: Hot water temp
Well I haven't attempted to grease my body down and try to slide in the compartment on the port side yet. Actually I won't attempt it if I'm over at the Club alone for fear of getting stuck in there, LOL. Some truth to that! I just put a call into Rick in Milwaukee that offered to walk me through th...

Thank you to everyone! I am heading over there today and hopefully I will take the shelf out and see if it’s possible for me to accomplish something. I will post an update and note the frustration or lack thereof in this mission of mine.

Re: VHF antenna replacement
If the antenna looks fine that doesn't necessarily rule out a lightning strike. Try disconnecting the coax from the VHF and while the top is off check the center wire and shield with an ohm meter to make sure there is no short. ' The preference would be to replace the coax with a good quality RG8 co...

Re: Hot water temp
I have seen several replies by people on this thread, and others, referring to the best access to their water heater on the port aft hatch in the cockpit. I’ll check mine again today and my water heater is without a doubt on the starboard side of my boat. It's lower but just inboard from the fridge ...

Hot water temp
Staying on my boat I use the hot water often. At my galley the water never seems hot enough for me. Yesterday I checked the temp with my laser temp gun from Harbor Freight. I consistently get readings of 107°-108°. The boat is “new to me” this summer. I will be hauling in another week or so then bei...

Re: Where to sleep
I always slept in the aft cabin on my C34, 3277 MotorYacht, and my 31’ Allmand before that. I was explaining to my daughter (the newly graduated MD) who has always been placed in the V-birth how the 350 designates the V-birth as the “Owners stateroom” with a separate door into the head but that I’m ...

Re: Shower door magentic strip
I’ll try those magnets. Presently I put a clamp holding the door to the frame. The problem is it only pinches it together at the very top. Another thing I did was cut a strip of poly board that fits in the top channel of the door of both halves. I put a notch in the center to allow it to fit over th...

Just a RANT
Why aren’t the mattresses (especially in the aft cabin) sized to be just slightly smaller than the space provided to occupy. This would possibly allow making the bed possible without the significant battle I always have trying to tuck in sheets and a quilt.

Opening port screens
I know this may be a dumb question, but, is there some secret easy way to place the screens in the opening ports? Some way that the are functional yet don’t fall through the opening?
Is it just me?
I was similarly perplexed with the screens on my C34

Bottom companion ladder step
Has anyone come up with a modification that would hinge the bottom step up? I think it may make it easier to walk into and out of the galley.

Hello Ken I understand it’s been a long time since you posted but I was wondering if you would be willing to repost your pictures. I’m in the process of doing the refrigerator/freezer insulation upgrade and hopefully will start my installation of ac/heat as soon as I finish. Thank you in advance Steve

Re: Raritan sea era head -small leak
As always, just great advice on all these posts. I just took delivery of a 2006 MkI and immediately noticed a leak when I tried flushing the head. The PO said they virtually always used the shower for water to flush. In my eyes that's a far smarter idea for a flush source than pluming into the boats...

KEEL BOLT MAINTENANCE?
Hey all: On my C34 it was annual maintenance to check to torque on the keel bolts. I searched the forums and really haven't seen much chat on this topic here. I have seen that the torque specs are 100#. If memory serves me, the 34 was slightly higher like 115# but that could be a memory glitch. Ques...

Re: Air conditioning with a Honda generator!!!
nybor Just wondering. If you have two gennys and run them parallel to start your a/c unit, have you tried shutting off one generator after the compressor is running? I know it would require restarting it if the compressor cycles but if it has a long run time I was just wondering. I've used my Honda ...

velair a/c size unit
I'm planning on installing reverse cycle a/c on the 2006 350 I'm in the process of purchasing. Is 16,000 btu the recommended size for the 350? I've been somewhat intrigued the the Velair brand and their variable speed units. the make a 4,000-16,000 btu model and then a 7,000-21,000 btu model. Is the...
