I have two questions: How can I verify the accuracy of my depth sounder? How far below the water line is the depth sounder sensor? Thanks for your input.

It sounds like you want to check the reading verses the actual depth. I took a pvc pipe, measured the water depth at the front of the keel, and set my depth sounder to this.
