Catalina 350 International Association

Hi (I wish it was better news about Catalina...) Anyway, my shower pump is not running and I need to replace it. Can I disconnect the pump from the white tube that it is connected to it while on the water? Where does that water go if the pump is working? I don't think it goes to the bilge but maybe I am wrong.
