We are about 100 miles away from our boat and I would like to make a one piece board to insert over the winter months. I have the templete of the the size but i forgot to measure the thickness of the boards.
Anyone near there boat that could give me that dimension?
Thanks,
Paul

I"m nearly positive that they are 3/4" thick. I'm going up tomorrow and will confirm.

Paul,

Just measured the thickness of hatch boards on our 2004 350: 15/16".

Probably started as 1". Suspect 3/4" plywood would work just fine.

I can also confirm the 1" thickness. Please note the term "nearly positive" in my previous post. :D

The gap is 1 and 1/8 and the boards are 1". |

Rather than start a new post I was searching and thought I would tack on the back of an existing one......

Watching "Distant Shores" (If you can find this on a cable channel I would recommend it) they had just taken delivery of a new southerly and it had a single sliding board in perspex or similar for the companionway, which strikes me as a great idea.

I have previously looked at zocor doors etc as a replacement for boards but ideally I want to have the boards to secure the boat, but when on the hook the boards are sub optimal and what I want is to have a single see through stiff sheet that drops in the slot. Anyone done this?

I don't need it to lock and although sound blocking is desireable I think a 15/16" thick sheet would be overkill so something thinner (1/4"?) with means of not rattling in the slot so 4 standoffs or similar. If anyone has done this please do share.
