Can you Identify this?

Hello again.
take a look at the attached photo.
Am I correct that the hole in the side of the - not sure what to call it, its not a strut - hull just forward of where the shaft exits is a water inlet to cool the cutlass bearing and PSS shaft seal?
What about the 4 additional holes. Should there be a grate or filter over the hole to prevent "stuff" from getting in there.
Thanks again and again and again. The group has been incredibly helpful since I got the boat.

Bill, is it possible that here was a strainer there before and you are looking at the 4 mounting holes.

Hi Bill,

I had my C350 out of the water last week, and while I wouldn't bet my house on it, I am pretty confident that my hull (#150) doesn't have any of these holes. I do have a PSS shaft seal with water injection at the seal so the lubrication is provided from there, not from the outside.

Thanks Ken and Russ.
Ken - I may just start calling you Obi Wan. Maybe Sensei.
