Electric winch gear oil

Ahoy,
Reposting...maybe some new viewers.
Need some help w my Harken 40 electric winch. One day the winch began spinning spontaneously...no idea how long; I opened the circuit breaker to stop it.
Noticed what appeared to be gear oil in the galley. Now I need to find out how to refill the gear oil. No help online or Utube.
Any suggestions here?
