Hatch pull ring

The pull ring on my port propane locker has broken off making it difficult to open the hatch. Wondering where to get a replacement that won't require too much modification of the hatch to install?

Thanks,

Ed

Ed, I found a couple of possibilities for you:

Catalina direct - https://www.catalinadirect.com/shop-by- ... hResults=1

Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/Tulead-Recessed- ... CAEWZPRP7E

Sailboatowners - https://shop.sailboatowners.com/. Put "Pull ring" in the search box. This might be the correct one. I think the base on that locker pull is rectangular rather than round.

I have found that the ones outside the cabin must be "Perko 1232DP2CHR Round Flush Ring Pull - 2" - Chrome Plated Zinc". I found these on Ebay for $9-$16. Because of the shape of the fiberglass indentation others will not work. You can move the original inside ones outside and they will work. Then you can use others inside because the indentations are larger than the one outside.

This is indeed the correct item. I ordered from Amazon and went to the boat today to verify. Fits perfectly!

Thanks for all the help people.

Hi Ed,

If you are in fresh water, the chrome plated zinc should be fine.

If you are in salt water like me, that plating will pit and eventually peel off.

Ask me how I know...LOL.

The next time I replace one, I hope to find a stainless one.

I'm In the ocean, but the original lasted 17 years and there are no SS units that will fit without cutting the hatch to make room for a thicker unit. I'll take this and wait for it to fail again in the future.

Thanks for your help.
