Potable water pump

Post by Jrelihan »

So we ran both the fore and aft holding tanks dry, refilled the tanks but now our water pump is not working properly.
When I turn on the water pressure I get the usual noise of the pump pressurizing and when I open a faucet I get a burst of pressure that then stops. If I do the same thing again I get the same burst and then nothing.
I cleaned the faucet screen and next will clean the basket on the pump. Any other ideas on where the problem may be?

Usually, if you open a faucet or two, and then turn on the pump, it WILL prime. With no faucets opens, all it does is compress air (which is what you have in the lines from tanks to pump).

My experience is that you can only have one water tank supply valve (under galley sink)open at one time. Otherwise you will eventually suck air into the waterpump. I couldn;t figure out why my aft water tank was never empty.

I'm reinstalling the third water tank under the port settee and will probably replace all the original water hose and fittings.
