I changed my large table and the job ended up not as I would have liked it.

Does anyone have the dimensions of the original large table so I can try again?

Also, if anyone has changed the large table to make it a bit more user friendly I would like to see some pictures and get some ideas, here is my redux, the small table is laid over the top covering compass inlay I had put it.

We found the big table too big and the small table too small so for a winter project in the frozen north I made a new table out of black walnut and sealed it in epoxy. I was able to find a lighter and darker supply so there is a slight look of teak and holly. The admiral loves it! More room in the cabin as well.

Wow - this looks great. Can you post the table dimensions? How thick is the table? Also, the dimensions for the settee on the forward end. Did you make the settee? Thank you. John

The top is 23”x40”. I used 3/4” stock. With the epoxy, it’s 7/8” thick. I used 5 biscuits per joint to ensure strength.

This is a very pretty table. You are not thinking by any chance of ... making a few more ???
I was actually curious about the length of the stool, which is against your bulkhead.
Mine is a little longer and when placed against the bulkhead it sticks out.
Did it come like this or you made it shorter yourself???

Thanks so much. It really changed the look inside. It was about $200 of black walnut and 6 attempts of epoxy before I was satisfied.
The bench came with the boat when I bought it new. It’s 14x24.

Lacking the skill of hand of other contributors I repurposed a French marine store table top I bought some years ago and had our local shipwright provide a boxed cover for the supports which provides some useful extra stowage, albeit constrained somewhat to bottles and cans or other more linear items to fit around the supports inside the box.

Those are beautiful options for the table. I went a lot simpler however. I found a table on facebook marketplace that was removed from an RV. Perfect size, but I had to swap the uprights from the original boat table to make it work. Admiral found a nautical themed table cloth to cover the unpleasant pattern of the table. While I’m still on the lookout for a more aesthetically pleasing table, this ranks as one of the most useful changes I’ve made to the boat.
