VP-64 variprofile 3 blade prop

Post by sv.divine.grace »

I recently installed a VP-64 16x10 three blade prop. The prop came pre-set pitch at 10deg but this seems to be under powered in forward as I struggle to make 6kt thru the water at max rpm. The engine M35B does not appear to be laboring at all. Any advise on increasing the pitch in forward?

Regards

I installed a VariProfile 2 seasons ago. I purchased from AB Marine. They suggested, and I purchased, a 15X10. I wrote a detailed thread about the experience - I think its titled “Varipofile Prop” if you want to read. Long story short, I am very happy with it as set up and have not adjusted the pitch. I now cruise at around 6kts in most conditions, and max speed is closer to 7. I suspect that the extra inch of diameter may have something to do with your performance. I don’t know enough about adjusting the pitch to advise you.

Where did you purchase the prop? Perhaps call them and ask their advice on pitch.

I also purchased from AB Marine and that was their recommendation.
