Shower head leaking

My shower head is leaking from the lever on the top of the shower head. I seem to recall a discussion regarding soaking the shower head in something but I can't find the topic. Any suggestions on what to try, look for before I resort to replacing the shower head itself. All else is good, the hose and the hot cold lever on the wall.
