Sliding hatch cover

We are having a hard time sliding the cockpit hatch cover. Tried a couple of things. Door-ease (kind of a wax) and sail-kote. Neither worked. Any suggestions?

Where is it binding?

I would advise to take the cover off and check underneath

I took the screws around the hatch cover (not all of them-6), lifted it up by placing screw drivers under the cover to hold it up and cleaned it real well (with a steam cleaner). Seems to slides better. Still need to improve it. No obvious binding points.
