Exhaust Hose loop

I removed the old exhaust hose (muffler to thru hull) last winter as it was cracked and had potential to leak. In preparing to replace it this spring I can't locate my measurements as to how high, over the thru hull, the loop is. The loop, I believe, is to prevent seawater from backing up the exhaust hose when heeled over and the thru hull is underwater.

I would appreciate anyone that could provide me guidance as to how high the loop should be. Measurements or pictures would be very helpful. Thanks for your help.

Catalina’s Drawing 53001-4 Engine Exhaust System Retrofit Kit… dated 04/12/04 revised 11/23/05 shows loop to be 35” from top of hose at muffler to bottom of loop… and that the Muffler Modification per Catalina… drawing dated 11/14/05 be installed to level muffler and install Drain Screw

The drawings came with the kit to level the muffler…
You should be able to contact Catalina for that change…
Catalina supplied a chair to place under muffler with instructions.

thanks, I didn't have to change the muffler, only exhaust hose. Steve
