Raymarine EV-1 location - ACU200 Course Computer

I am planning to install a ACU Course Computer. As part of the install I have to install an EV-1 compass. Has anyone else installed the EV-1 or other compass for an auto pilot and where did you locate it.

I put mine under the port lazarette locker. I access it through the outside port hatch. I also mounted the autopilot box there.

I put mine inline with the keel, under the V-berth bilge access panel.
