I wanted to sleep in the V-birth with my feet towards the bow. Then my head can be directly below the breeze coming through the hatch. Seemed like I would be chasing pillows all night, that fell off the bunk. So I made a simple head board, actually two separate removable and stowable head boards. Using 12” x 3/4” pine and then a hard wood strip and 4 wood screws to connect the two. The two pieces fit tab A into slot B for use as a head board. To stow, simple pull out the vertical piece and slide both up under the mattress. We used it for two nights and neither one of us lost a pillow. Please find attached a couple of photos. Other ideas are welcome.

Great idea. I've rescued many a pillow off the floor in the middle of the night.

Below is a little closer shot of the the two pieces. The dark wood is Hard wood on the outside strip. Fingers give you a sense of size.
