E80 Chartplotter Screen

Post by nedenborough »

My E80 Chartplotter has developed a hotspot right in the center of the display. It makes the unit unusable. I always cover the screen when not in use, but it looks like sun damage to me.

Is there a way to have the screen only replaced? Everything else works correctly.

The same thing happened to my C80 screen. I sent it to GuageSaver.com they refurbished it for $150 plus tax and shipping.

Hi,

I did not repsond because I have a Garmin plotter (older model). My screen looks similar, but is due to minor water condensation. I called Garmin and their asnwer was - it is a discontinued model, so you will have to buy a new one. The Plotter works, but is just irritatingly unclear so it went down on the priority list (not worth spending $1500+ for new espoecially with Novionics ad cheaper ipads with GPS that are available.

I will definitely check out GuageSaver.com as well.

I had a similar problem, went on Ebay, bought the exact chartplotter for $250 and it was plug and play, and a quick fix. No need to run new cables and anything.

Try this guy, he fixes other raymarine screens, just did my ST6002 Autopilot head when it went black in the middle.

I did look on eBay. You are right there are several there. Nothing as cheap as $250, but not bad.

I am going to see if I can find a repair for mine first.

Thanks to all for the replies
