LPG Solenoid - Has anyone replaced?

Post by ChuteUp »

What first appeared to be a Bulb issue has now developed into something bigger.
The LPG Solenoid switch (looks like original) itself is rusted especially at the wired end.
Turning on the LPG has turned into a roulette or lottery game.

So ordered a new switch - which was an adventure in itself. Note - installed switch has been discontinued, so replacement
is Asco 8262H090 12vDC (they make same switch in multiple power/voltage configuration)
The new switch has 3 wires vs 2 in original......Asco says it's for ground.

Has anyone changed out their LPG Solenoid switch? any hints / cautions especially with the wiring?
Plan to swap out hoses & fittings too, it's time
