Newbie Embarking from Tampa to Titusville

Fifty, I used to do a lot of delivery work and have people come up to me asking if there are any "crewing" opportunities. I within the last few days I've had two, both very competent and licenced captains themselves. They do not ask for money, but expenses would be nice. They are both very good people, people I'd take if I were doing a delivery. If you want to take one or two along, let me know and I'll send their contact info.

The chart resolution from Open CPN is a function of what charts you have downloaded and installed. If installed more or less detailed charts for the same area are selectable along the bottom of the screen. If you are viewing chart 11452 Shell Key will look something like this:

If you select one of the more detailed charts (11451, 11459, or 11464) it will look something like this:

that is great info... thanks.. I need to find the more detailed charts for the areas.
i was incorrect.
i have been looking for those more detailed charts. could you copy and paste a directory?

You can download electronic navigation charts and chart plotting software from the NOAA website. https://www.charts.noaa.gov/RNCs/RNCs.shtml.

I would suggest that you select FL from the section on RNCs by States. It will download a package of about 90 charts.

If Florida will be your cruising grounds, I would highly recommend investing in a Maptech Chartbook. All the large and small scale charts in a single spot. Also, the companion Florida cruising guide is very helpful.
