Cat 350 Displacement

Post by rjengelhart »

Hi All. Did a pre-purchase survey today on a 2008 wing keel Cat 350. Sling weight was 20,500 lb.

Seems like a lot compared to its published displacement. I figure w tanks full, 135* genoa, main, anchors & chains, AC, refrigeration and batteries that she'd weigh a few thou more, but 7000 lbs.

Sound reasonable to you who are more experienced?

Thanks.

Is it "sitting on its lines"?

Or Is the boot stripe well under water?

We lift every year, we com in between 20000 and 21000 every year. It is way heavier than the specs say. Water tanks empty, waste empty, fuel mostly full, infurling mast, sails off.
