Proper roller reefing headsail

Post by rwbower »

I learned the hard way that when changing to a new headsail the new sail may have the opposite side with UV protection than my original sail. The furling then must be changed to be ensure that the sail rolls in with the UV protected side exposed to the sun. I caused damage to to my new headsail by not making this change. This change in the roller reefing can easily be made and will protect your sail from the harmful exposure to the sun.
I am interested in purchasing a dingy-davit system for my cat 350. Currently a Walker Bay Genisius and a St Croix 400 Rotating system look like it might be a good choice. Appreciate comments or suggestions
