blisters in the anchor locker

Hi folks. My 2006 350 had two anchors installed when I bought her and the starboard one I have never used. Today I was cleaning out the locker and removed the chain and rope (rode?) and saw maybe 4 blisters on the side of the locker!!!!! I guess the rope was wet and never moved relative to the surface of the locker for years and this caused the moisture to penetrate the gelcoat.

Any suggestions on what to to about this? Regardless, I think that whoever has items that get wet and remain in contact with gelcoat for long periods of time should move them around periodically.
