Re: Venice Florida Marina

As John Forr mentioned, we did the trip in his 350 Forr Fun. Crossed the Lake with no problems at all. Also done it outside, so here are some timings for you: 1. Lake Worth to No Name Harbor 13 hrs off shore, to Duck Key 8 hrs Hawke Channel, to Key West 8 hrs in Hawke Channel, Key West to St Pete of...

Re: Accumulator Tanks

I am sorry Russ, but I could not help myself when I read your post. Of course you had to install it "upside down". Consider where your boat is compared to where Kevin's is likely to be!!

BTW: see your email about next year.

Re: New owner of hull 358

I have hull 357, so there is a chance it will be similar to your 358.

The AC fan runs continually while the AC is on, regardless of compressor. Switch tanks, bow and stern via valves under floor panel under galley sink, our hot water is same pressure as cold.

Enjoy a great boat mate

Re: De-lamination of veneer on forward bulkhead wall in salo

John: the only answer to stop the delamination is to buy a boat without lamination! Sorry to be so crass, but it appears Catalina may have had a problem with workers and/or glue around 2004/2005. According to Pandy/Douglas/Butler there is no good cure once it has happened. Sorry mate. We did find th...

Re: De-lamination of veneer on forward bulkhead wall in salo

I had severe delimitation up until about 4 years ago. Had tried “ironing” the laminate back (the glue was heat activated), done the Triumph trick and used some wood glue (the best outcome) but to no avail. May have lasted a few weeks and then back to square one. Had previously contacted Catalina, we...

Re: Replacing tachometer

Out of interest, has your tacho totally ceased working or does it move but to bizarre readings, like 3,000 when you are idling. If the latter you only need make an adjustment to correct. Either way I would try: Remove the plate holding your instruments on the pedestal; Turn it over and have a look a...

Re: Removing Water Tanks

I replaced the original tank monitor about a year ago. I made sure the forward was empty which allowed to place the tape. I had the tape loosely attached to a paint stirring stick, placed it and used the stick to smooth it down. Aft tank was straight forward.

Thank you for the navigation but we are flying through eastern Florida. Left Brunswick, GA on Tuesday morning, Fernandina Beach that night, St Augustine the next night and tonight in Cocoa Beach, maybe watch the liftoff as a bonus. Planning on starting on the OKeechobee on day and completing the jou...

Re: Tank Monitor for Waste Holding Tank

I also have a Snake River tank monitor. It has caused problems for years. I have re-taped the sensor tape twice but it regularly reads a tank as full when it is empty. The holding tank must only hold about 12 gallons based on the frequency the monitor tells me to empty. So I also am interested in a ...

Re: Bulkhead Veneer Delamination

Good luck. We used acetone to dissolve the previous glue which worked really well. The contact glue we used from 3M (sorry cannot remember if it was 90) worked too well. Once applied to both surfaces it stuck and would not allow any movement. Hence we could not slide the panel into the grooves at th...
