Re: Engine Tach guage

hi all. Hopefully I am posting this in the right forum. I replaced my instrument cluster but note that the tach needs to be calibrated. Has anyone done this? I gave my old one away and forgot to note the "A", "B" or "C" switch position. I assume one uses a tachometer (n...

Re: Damper Replacement

Gulp. After reading the posts, I am thinking ("just" for now) of replacing mine. My question is do you have to remove any of the "boat" to get to the tranny? Or does one do the work simply via the wood hatch access panel in the aft stateroom? Those photos were taken close range a...

Re: sailing from Florida to Oregon

thanks for all the above tips. Maybe I should go eastward thru the Suez canal? I could fly the Jolly Roger flag to ward off pirates, ie a brother in arms!

Re: YET ANOTHER BATTERY QUESTION

i knew i should have thought about my previous post a bit more. Of course BOTH batteries could have bad cells. Like someone said, check via a load resistor and monitor the voltage drop (hopefully it will be minor)

Re: YET ANOTHER BATTERY QUESTION

lets see if I can get in trouble adding to this conversation. So far the previous responders have all made good points. How about disconnecting one of the batteries and see if the outgassing occurs? If not, then try the other one. However, if both do it (separately charged) then it is your charger. ...

Re: Outboard Motor Mount

hi. my white one also was getting that "looking sad" state. I did buy a brown plastic one very similar, but had to sand one of the cutouts due to the curvature of the 1 inch tubing. But it works fine. I will try to find out where I bought it. I think it was around $20 or $30

Re: Head Flushing

wow, misery loves company! ok, question. I noticed that on top of the holding tank (hard to get to) is a small elbow fitting which FEELS like a barbed end. It is open to the atmosphere - most likely a vent to allow for pump out. However, is there a valve or tube or SOMETHING missing up there? it is ...

locks on stern lockers

Ok. I have tried and tried to lock/unlock the two lockers. (they are currently unlocked, thank goodness!) However, first, I have no idea which keys fit them (i inherited a bunch from the previous owner) and I think the tumblers are still stuck from lack of use. I did spray: WD40, Blaster, and 3-1 oi...

sailing from Florida to Oregon

Hi. Has anyone done this or vice versa? What about the Canal transit? I am "considering" this trip but would like to hear from people that have done it.

thanks

Re: Salon Table into Double Berth

hi all. I have been reading about the two tables that come with the boat. One too small and one too big. I agree and as Goldie Locks would say, "this one is just about right", i had one made out of cast acylic. It looks great, very very sturdy, has fiddles around the edges as well. FYI, it...

Re: threading new radio cable to pedestal

thanks for the tips. fortunately, another owner said you can get better access via that plastic cover in the aft sleeping quarters. So, i think i will route the cable and then cut, solder and shrink the connector back on.

Re: threading new radio cable to pedestal

thanks. I did see the hole near the other two that have the cables thru them. I was considering that one, but not sure if the connector will fit either!
I will look for the other one you mentioned.
thanks again,

threading new radio cable to pedestal

My Raymarine RAM didn't work when I bought the boat and the repair shop said the cable went bad. So I bought a new one and got it threaded from the main radio to the port side aft locker. (fortunately i could fit into it!). BUT, then I looked at the snakes exiting the small pvc tube on the pedestal ...

ps. Does ANYONE want to buy an unused titanium/gold/platinum fuel lift filter screen? It is only $490. Please send the funds (cash only) to my banker in Nigeria.

fuel filters

I recently changed the fuel filters in my m35b engine. I also ordered a "kit" that contains oil filters, fuel, impeller, etc. However, it also came with a small wire cylinder "filter" (kinda like in raw water filters - only much smaller). The question is WHAT THE ^&*%^&$^...

I was going to pour 10 gallons of antifreeze into that exhaust elbow plug - don't think it would do much!!! i did change the transmission oil - hopefully i didn't screw up, since i used synthetic in it and the engine. seems fine though. also replaced all the lights with LE...

Re: Coolant Level Question

hello all. just bought a 2006 350 and love it. I want to baby it, so i changed the oil, filters, impeller, etc. the problem was it was running at 180 degrees - too hot? So i replaced the thermostat and radiator cap and perfect - 160 degrees. However, i have just change the coolant and it is back to ...
