Re: What is this pump in my raw water intake hose?

You could very well be right, this is not my area of expertise. Any idea what the need for a solenoid valve for a commode would be?

Re: What is this pump in my raw water intake hose?

My current commode is a Jabsco with an electric macerator pump that uses sea water for flushing. I have yet to figure out what the stock system was when the boat was new, I'm pretty certain this is not it. I do have a washdown pump but it's not tied to this system at all, it's up in the anchor locke...

What is this pump in my raw water intake hose?

Hello!

Can anyone tell me what this pump is that's connected to my raw water intake for the head? It's wired up but I'm pretty sure it's not doing anything because when I'm touching it and press the switch to flush I don't feel anything.

Re: Fresh Water (Coolant) Impeller?

No need to "inspect" the engine coolant pump (driven by the belt). Yes, the raw water pump impeller does need inspection/replacement every couple of years unless high engine usage suggests more often. Do make sure the engine coolant pump is not leaking-- no different than on any vehicle. ...

Re: Fresh Water (Coolant) Impeller?

The image below shows the location of the raw water pump. Unfortunately the bolts that have to come off in order to inspect or replace the impeller are facing aftward. You may also have to loosen one or both hose clamps in order to work on the pump. If any of the vanes on the impeller are missing t...

Fresh Water (Coolant) Impeller?

Hello again! I'm still learning the ins and outs of my 2004 Catalina 350 (first boat) and I've been making sure to keep up with the engine maintenance. This past weekend I did my 100 hour oil/filter and transmission fluid changeout and raw water system inspection including the raw water impeller on ...

Re: Charles 5000 Series to ProNautic 1240P Battery Charger Swap - Case Ground?

Monty,

I appreciate your reply, thank you! I will be running the ground ASAP and your idea of pulling the switch panel out to route the wires had me banging my head against my desk, I can't believe I didn't think of that while I was doing the job!

Charles 5000 Series to ProNautic 1240P Battery Charger Swap - Case Ground?

Good morning/afternoon/evening! Today I swapped out the original Charles 5000 series battery charger with a ProNautic 1240P. I used the existing cabling (2 bank) so I just had to install connectors on the DC cables. Install was pretty simple (as can be on a boat), but trying to run the battery temp ...

Re: Steering shaft info requested

Does anyone have pictures of a folding wheel installed and folded on their C350? I’m seriously contemplating this upgrade but unsure of how much real estate it would really recover.

Re: Engine DC Power On/Off Switch - What does it do?

Ken, I appreciate the long reply! Haha. I should have stated in my original post that I have a dedicated 12 VDC Discover type EV4DA-A, 1190 mca starter battery and 2 x 12 VDC FullRiver type DC210-12, 220 amp hr. batteries for the house, according to the survey. From what I'm gathering though, the En...

Engine DC Power On/Off Switch - What does it do?

Hello everyone, I'm still learning my first boat and I'm struggling to understand what this Engine DC Power switch does, and whether it should ever be switched to the OFF position. I've gone through the manual but can only seem to find reference to the Main Battery Select switch. I believe I underst...

Re: Stock Bose Speaker Replacement Options?

Antonio JL Audio makes solid marine grade equipment. Sturdy polyethylene drivers, solid enclosures. They sound great. The stock Bose were in my opinion horrible. I could not find better drivers to fit the enclosure and work well. And I looked extensively. These two ways from JL are made for mountin...

Re: Stock Bose Speaker Replacement Options?

Thank you everyone for the replies! I have the Bose 151's right now and I'm not a fan of them, I'm definitely going to check out JL Audio recommended by Wisail. I wasn't sure how that style of speaker would look but I don't mind it. Thank you for the picture!

Stock Bose Speaker Replacement Options?

Hi Everyone! I recently took possession of my first sailboat, 2004 hull # 137. Currently named Greyfox but I will be renaming her to Senja. She has been well cared for over the years and I am beyond happy. I am really big into music and would like to replace both the below deck and cockpit (princess...
