Alternator charging horror
Well if you remember I had the alternator wire died by mech at Titusville. This morning I was checking the belt tendon and that dust. The main alt mount bolt was sitting down by the port motor mount. Took all apart. Did not have Loctite but now I can double check until I get some. Started and right ...

Re: Bahamas changed COVID Jan7th
At 1500 rpm the output is 20 amps
At 2000 rpm the output is 40 amps
At 80 % charge the voltages go up 14.25.
Which might be a different charge mode?
I have 400 aH house batteries. And checked today a little belt dust after 100 hrs.
Belt is still tight and good. No squeal.

My1/2 snubber feels inadequate and I put a rolling hitch on the chain with 5/8 3 strand and cleated that off so if sn...

Re: Alternator wire burned thru
Found out the wire is called a spike arrestor. Not spark arrestor. It prevents a surge going thru the alt the could damage the components. It is a diode mid length and changes from black to red half way at the diode.

On the red wire. All are still connected. The red broke off at the ring lug on the main positive post.
After I got it started, the alt seemed to charge wonderfully I monitored the amps volts and percent of bank capacity.
I’ll get some pics come out
