Interesting. so when you installed the split coupling, did you get it "faced" on a lathe. If so, was the shaft attached or not.

We just use the shower to rinse with FW. It has a length of hose and removable hand held shower head. I don't want the head any near the FW system otherwise.

To add, this will be an issue with most C350s that were outfitted with a PSS Shaft seal because the overall length of the working area is very short on shaft working space.
