Re: Knot meter difficulties

Bob, It's not a big deal to pull out the transducer for the knot log while the boat is in the water. That is what the blank plug is for. Your boat should have the blank plug. The fitting has a little flapper door in it so the amount of water that comes in is minimal, just put the plug in after pulli...

Re: Why is my boat so slow under power?

Golden Handcuffs, We have hull #451, and at the last haul out the prop went off to the prop shop. What they found was a large imbalance of 12 grams, and pitch was off from spec. I had the prop shop dynamically balance the prop and set pitch at 10.75, up from 10. They got the balance down to less tha...

Re: Air conditioning with a Honda generator!!!

Well, this worked for a while.... :? Then my A/C compressor would no longer stay running, even on shorepower!!! Took off the Hard Start Capacitor, (BAD) and now the A/C works fine. We are getting a MasterVolt generator installed next week. Anyone want to buy a Honda 2000 with extended run tank for $...

Re: Air conditioning with a Honda generator!!!

George,

The brand should not make a difference, I was just curious...

If it gets hot down here next week, I will run this and try it out and report back.

Also, bought a 6 gallon tank to run the generator on from Wise Sales on the Web.

Re: Air conditioning with a Honda generator!!!

Hi George, Finally, someone takes an interest to this... Guess it's not hot enough yet  We are going on a cruise next week and will try it out if Florida doesn't get anymore cold fronts. The addition of the hard start kit actually quieted down the A/C compressor while running off shore power!!!...

The 350 has always been built in Florida, all the parts for it are there. Warren is the one to talk to, but he is very busy.

John,

After you tension the main halyard, take it off the winch and re-coil it on the mast....

Re: Mainsail shape

John, We had this issue early on. You are going to have to run the halyard through the spare block at the bottom of the mast and back to the cabin top winch. The main halyard should be through the rope clutch on the mast, not the cleat. The cleat is for the topping lift. I don't care how much you we...

Air conditioning with a Honda generator!!!

Hi everyone, This has been brought up before, and I don’t think there has ever been a definitive answer. So here it is, YES, you can run the Air Conditioning with a Honda EU2000i !!!! I bought a Supco SPP8E Super Boost start capacitor and relay; wired it in parallel with the run capacitor of my Marv...

Re: Depth of wing keel

blake, we own hull #451, and our dealer set up our offset at +1.6, or 1.5. I believe which would agree with alex's 3 foot depth of the transducer. I will check for sure on the + or -. Raymarine! I am not at the boat now, but am going today and will check it out. Anyway, I know it is accurate because...

Re: Refrigeration

tpeyser, My boat hull #451, the first Mark II had the same problem. The thermostat installed is the wrong one. Mine had a freezer thermostat installed. Get with your dealer and have a refrigeration guy come out and change it. Mine now works fine, no freezing and can control the temp. They are color ...

Re: Rope Clutch for Jib Furler line

Gary & Jon,

I also mounted it in the same location and used shorter screws. I have not used it on the winch, have not needed to.
It does work much better by having the line in a clutch instead of free though.

Re: Dinette to double berth- Edge support?

Pieter,

Call Warren Pandy at Catalina in Largo, FL, 727-544-6681.
Be patient as he is very busy. His cohort Gary unfortunately passed away a couple of months ago.

I have set up the bed but not used it.

Re: Rope Clutch for Jib Furler line

Jon,

Thats great, we think the boat should have come with it installed!
It works much better especially when the wind pipes up. I wish you were able to use the winch with it though.
Did you find the old cleat through bolted or just screwed?

Good luck.

Don, Yes I can confirm both of these changes. You will have to give me a little time to get you the pictures. I know Warren very well, I work down the street from the factory. He can get you the necessary parts to effect these changes. The anti-siphon is just higher above the water line and in the s...

Re: C350 MKII

Yes, we got the first one. Hull # 451 and the fridge does work better. Still get some condensation on the doors, thinking about getting insulation blanket type things to go on top, and they still don't seal the gap on the ceiling of the fridge. Have to still do that as well. Catalina has removed han...

Re: mounting electronics on pod

Hey Guys, I have the first 350 Mk II, #451. It differs from the newer ones in that the tridata, wind and autopilot are housed in the pedestal. The compass is then on top of this and a navpod on an angle with a C-80 above this, I like our setup. The engine shutoff is not a problem and the compass is ...
