If Florida will be your cruising grounds, I would highly recommend investing in a Maptech Chartbook. All the large and small scale charts in a single spot. Also, the companion Florida cruising guide is very helpful.

Ken, The frame has a channel that the gasket locks into. A bead of Silicone should be squeezed into the channel all the way around the frame before installing the gasket. I thought the I50 was NEMA2000 while the ST displays are NEMA0183. How did you get them to talk to each other?

Ken,

Did you find a replacement ST6001 auto pilot display. I have one for sale. Note that the backlight doesn't work so does not light up at night.

Good info/advise. Thanks. Fortunately I have solar panels to help charge.

Do you think the alternator is bad then?

Since the starter motor works ok, the ground for the alternator should be ok too? Where does the ground wire attach?

I am at anchor off the SW end of Key Biscayne in Florida.

Thanks Brett. Using my DMM I measured 12.5V at the engine battery before starting the engine and about 12.2V with the engine running at slow idle. No change at higher rpms either. Alternator appears to be consuming voltage. Bad alternator/diode? I am currently at anchor. Can I run the engine in this...

Alternator charge output only 11 5 volts

While motoring the engine voltage output is only about 11.5 volts. I suspect alternator failing. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I recently installed a VP-64 16x10 three blade prop. The prop came pre-set pitch at 10deg but this seems to be under powered in forward as I struggle to make 6kt thru the water at max rpm. It is called a foam wrap. Coincidentally I had the same question. I found a generic wrap that replaces Kohler engine part #12-083-12 for under $3.
