Re: Refrigeration Upgrades - questions
David, Hull 167 is old style Freezer Refrigerator. I was surprised to see the set up on newer 350s. We upgraded to SeaFrost BDxp compressor with 2 large cold plates in freezer. Spill over fan controls refrigerator temp. We upgraded the compressor to a water cooled model this Spring to improve duty c...

Engine wiring harness to instrument panel
While trouble shooting engine temp gauge failure, I found terminal block in pedestal connecting (23) wires between engine harness and instrument panel. Some water apparently got in behind instrument panel and half of the terminal block screws were rusted. I replaced terminal block with conventional ...

Re: Low voltage at Temp Gauge
Same issue on our Hull 167. Even though gauge passed initial tests, it was indeed the gauge. I also replaced the terminal block in the pedestal that had considerable corrosion. Probably the worst electrical compost I’ve seen on any boat, and far below standard.

Re: Potable water pump
My experience is that you can only have one water tank supply valve (under galley sink)open at one time. Otherwise you will eventually suck air into the waterpump. I couldn;t figure out why my aft water tank was never empty. I'm reinstalling the third water tank under the port settee and will probab...

Reinstalling midship water tanh
Original owner removed midship water tank to make room for extra starting battery. I'm reinstalling midship tank and replacing extra battery with portable 300 Amp Jump Starter. Apparently, prior owner removed connection under galley sink for midship tank, since I found non-standard water hose betwee...

Re: Schaefer 2100 Furling & Lower Bearing Assy
I replaced the fuller drum last summer, apparently corroded due to salt water. Shaffer provided new drum bearing and my rigging shop installed it for 250 with new furling line.

Re: Accumulator Tanks
Hi, Just replaced my original Shurflo and Strainer with Shurflo AquaKing II with 55psi and newer strainer design. Our problem was caused by organic material clogging the strainer, but I decided to replace the original pump. The AKII is a little more quiet, but having a well-water system at home, an ...

Re: Autohelm "Drive Stopped"
Ed, We just bought Hull 167. My Surveyor recommended installing a Rudder Stop to prevent the RAM from reaching the end of it's mechanical travel and putting pressure on the RAM seals. I haven't climbed down to get a closer look yet. Not sure, but if the RAM is leaking it should be obvious. Regards, ...
