Shore power inlet fried
Acouple of years ago there was a post about a shore power inlet that melted down. I have the same problem and assume that it might be caused by the airconditioner. I am going to replace the inlet but thought it might be a good time to install another inlet for the AC. Has anyone done this and how di...

Re: Alternator Type P?
More than likely ,if you have the original alternator, it is an N type with a built in regulator. Most of the newer after market alternators are externally regulated and are P types

Re: Is there a check valve on the electric bilge pump?
I replaced mine with a brass check valve, I'm not sure if there was a plastic one available at the time. I don't think it matters much. West Marine had a check valve in stock so I bought it.

Re: Is there a check valve on the electric bilge pump?
Check near your bilge pump.It should be on the hose running to the overboard discharge. Mine was a brass check valve that I replaced last summer.

Ken,
I usually call Waren Pandy in Florida, but I think most of the parts come from California if he does not have them in stock.

Install on raw water pump
OK, I've just received my new Sherwood pump and would like a little advice on the install. I still have more than a month before I can get into the boat but with the weather lately I starting to think about it. I thought I read somewhere that the engine had to be started to line up the pump, is this...

Re: replacing/rebedding Stantions
Ralph,
Good thing you ordered your stanchion now because last year it took three and a half months to get it. Stay on top of Warren Pandy or you may not half it by July.
Take care and good luck.

Re: replacing/rebedding Stantions
Ralph, I have had to replace my gate stanchions the last two years. There are two screws on the deck and a nut and washer underneath. If it is a middle stanchion than it will be easier. I purchased a set of short box wrenches for the project because there is very little room to work. You can remove ...
