Re: De-lamination of veneer on forward bulkhead wall in salon.

JohnNorton - it's been 3 years - did the veneer stay attached after you ironed it?

rattling/grinding noise in gear at higher RPMs

Ours is a 2003 model with ~850 engine hours. After a 100 engine hour trip to ME and back in August I am hearing a rattling or grinding noise when in gear at around 65% of full throttle that gets louder as I bring it up to 80%. No noise when run at high RPMs in neutral, and no vibration when in gear ...

Re: crack in the wing keel

Thanks for the input. I am going by the divers description- he doesn't have a camera now- and I think that the crack he saw is indeed where the keel meets the hull. You can see where the keel hit the rock- described and looking like it was hit with a sledge hammer- and the crack is above that spot a...

crack in the wing keel

I managed to bounce off a rock going through Woods Hole. Big, glancing strike. I had a diver inspect it and he found where on the keel it struck and a thin crack under the hull in the keel well above the wing. He tells me that he has seen lots of these and he doesn't think it's mandatory that I pull...

Re: sludge in fuel tank

Leigh- what do you mean by the "fuel level port"? Do you mean where the sender is on the top of the tank? And is there an opening in the tank big enough to reach around inside it? Are there any baffles in the tank?

sludge in fuel tank

My Raycor filter clogged last season when my fuel level ran lower than it had in the two seasons I've owned the boat. It's suggested that I clean the tank. How have folks dealt with this? The guy in the yard doesn't think I should cut access holes in the tank- asking for trouble- but I know someone ...

Holding tank

My wife and I are on a two week cruise in ME. My holding tank fills in less than 24 hours. Big problem! It had been making it for two days (or three with just two of us) with no problem. I emptied it yesterday and inserted a dip stick to see if there was anything left in it. Appeared to be empty. Fu...

Re: Galley faucet spray head

I'm looking to replace the sprayer handle only. I'm planning to order the Scandvik replacement sprayer handle mentioned in this thread. Defender has it in stock for $38.99. It appears that the handle can be unscrewed from the flex hose. There's a groove where a wrench can fit. But I can't get the th...

Re: Knot Meter Spinner

Would someone tell me how to access the transducer? I take it I can remove the spinner from inside to clean it (instead of from underneath?) My spinner has worked only when I go under the boat.

Thanks

Installing a rope clutch

I want to replace a clamcleat for the mainsheet with a rope clutch. How do I attach it to the deck? There are a few ropeclutches foreward of the winch on the deck next to the compainionway hatch. I opened the access panel under the winch to see if the clutches (and clamcleat) are bolted but don't se...

Re: Galley sink loses water pressure on 2 of 3 tanks

Can someone tell me which valve if for the tank in the bow and which is for the tank in the stern? They two valves are lined up from port to starboard under the galley sink.
