Re: The C355 vs the C350

I didn’t mean to imply anything about what the market is looking for but price is a big factor in people’s purchase decisions and my guess is that Catalina is adjusting their product line in response to their competition. Gerry Douglas did say that Catalina would build the C350 as long as there were...

The C355 vs the C350

The recent Catalina East-coast rendezvous was fun and I met a few new friends and an old co-officer for the first time face to face. Gerry and Frank did a slide show on the new 355 and talked about a number of boats from the 320 to the 455. Regarding the 355, Gerry talked about putting the emphasis ...

Re: Short video of C350

Great to see a sailing video from the perspective of ones "own" boat. Thanks for sharing that with us all.

Re: LED Replacements for Bulbs

For those of you that "do" E-bay, there is a fellow offering a 21-led replacement. I purchased one last year as a trial and liked it enough to get a few more. I leave the frosted glass lens out of the fixture after replacing the old bulb and the light output is good although slightly less ...

C350 MKII

A quick blog for the list. The rumors are true! The C350 MKII is here. It is Saturday evening at Mystic Seaport and I am at the Catalina East Coast Rendezvous. The C350 MkII is here and will be announced to the press at Newport Boat Show. New mast (same sail area), new deck and window design but the...

This also happened to me and the spray head was replaced by Catalina. Try giving Warren Pandy a call.

Armin,

I have installed the prop but will not splash the boat in until the end of the month. Business travel and a trip to the BVIs means that I will get a late start this year. I will be interested to hear of your discussions with AB Marine.

Association response

I believe that most owners are very happy with their boat and with Catalina’s customer support but when you do have a problem please do not expect that the association should always act on your behalf. This is one of those times when there may not be a solution that is satisfactory to all parties ...

Hi Alex,

Yes, I did get the Gori from AB Marine and they were very helpful. It is a three blade and the size is 16.5X11 but It hasn't been in the water yet so I can't give much of a report at this time.

I made the connection myself as my boat originally came without the GPS installed.

cleaning up

Hi Tim, Thanks for the chance to expand on this issue. Buy "cleaning up" I mean getting rid of extraneous posts from non-owners and multiple posts from a single owner who has nothing new to add to a subject but just likes to repeatedly complain in public. Ranting and venting will not be to...

Factory Liaison

I am happy to announce that Bill Cullen has agreed to act as the official factory liaison for our C350 Association and he will be working with our tech editor Skip Penizotto to bring common owner issues to Catalina and to report back on the factory’s findings. Bill has a good background for this t...

In my opinion eight is really not a maximum number but rather the European Union's recommendation in order for the boat to acquire an Offshore rating. I think that unless the boat was riding below the waterline or unless you had an insufficient amount of safety equipment on board relative to the num...

Capacity

Daniel, I seem to remember a CE offshore rating certificate at the back of the owners manual that indicated eight people. My manual is on the boat so I can not say for certain, however, I have had more than eight people in the cockpit at anchor without any ill effect so I would not worry too much ab...

Folding Prop - Gori 3 Blade

Hi Armin, I have acquired the Gori folding three blade prop over the winter but haven't yet had the boat in the water. I am also interested in some real world experience. Hopefully there is another C350 out there that can comment, otherwise I will let you know later this spring. Greg Klocek s/v Whit...

Retrofit kit deliveries complete

The upgrade kits to retrofit new anti-siphon valves have all left the factory. If an owner has not received their kit, please let Catalina know especially if you have moved. Also, please let the association know so that we can keep our records up to date and get your copy of the Mainsheet Magazine t...
