Re: Water pump under sink won’t pressurize
I just went through that when dewinterizing my boat. One likely possibility is the system is filling the hot water tank. It takes 11 gallons and the pump will run quite a while until the tank is being filled. You can kind of scope out what is happening by switching the faucet from cold to hot. There...

Re: Icebox drain pipe and water in floorboards
Don't know what the source of water on the cabin floor might be in your case. In my case the small drain holes on either side of the deck just forward of the traveler had become clogged, causing a buildup of water under the panel in which the deck hatch slides. During heavy rain the water overflowed...

Re: Companionway Hatch Cover Rotting
Unfortunately I didn't take pictures and won't see my boat again probably until the spring. The hatch covering that is held in by multiple screws has two ribs on the bottom side, through which the screws go. They are wood strakes fiberglassed in and covered with gel coat. In my case the water flood ...

Companionway Hatch Cover Rotting
This is heads up to a problem I had no idea could occur. I have hull #375 from 2006. Over the last several years I noted rain water had gotten into the deck storage locker (wine cellar) in the galley. I assumed my aftermarket companionway doors were leaking during heavy rain. This summer I was on a ...

Re: Prop replacement
Science and theory and engineering discussions aside I can only provide my experience...for what it is worth. I have hull 375 from 2006 and it came with the original prop. Best cruise speed I could get was 5.9 knots. Based on all the PR at the time I switch to the "M". Cruise speed became ...

Re: New sails
I had UK Sails in Annapolis make me a sail with vertical battens several years ago. I was great to have a positive instead of saggy negative roach, and improved performance. I did go through several evolutions though. First problem was battens were inserted from the top. Since they are 8 feet long t...

Re: Prop replacement
I have hull #375 and it came with the original 3 blade prop. I was unhappy with performance...couldn't cruise over 6 kts at 2500 rpm. When ad for M prop appeared I ordered one. Performance was also unsat on my boat, same lack of cruising speed. I bought a FLEXOFOLD 3 blade prop at the boat show seve...

Re: Using the windlass with mixed rode
The answer is that you Never Ever use the windlass to pull the boat forward. Always use the engine to move the boat toward the anchor so there is no strain on the rode. Wear leather gloves and as the boat moves forward it is easy to pull the rode in by hand and let in fall into the anchor locker. As...
