Leaking ceiling
I have a leak coming in around a plug in the ceiling. Fortunately it's right over the sink. When I removed the plug i could not determine the origin. I did see a bolt, with no nut, that appears to be part of the traveler securement to the deck. I am in the Bahamas still so this tropical storm is tes...

I also found the 600volt fuse in line to the positive feed. No way to tell if it's bad but when turned on with fuse removed the charger reads 17 amps?

Re: Bypass galvinic systems
Thank you. System is working with the by pass. However my battery charger is not working properly. It pegs the needle at plus 30 amps. Also the red wire to the battery got extremely hot. I noticed a fuse in that line so maybe got protection from harming the batteries. I'm thinking that's were the pr...

Bypass galvinic systems
I'm still broken down and green turtle cay Bahamas. Engine now working by jumping the hot side of the duel pump and elimination the wire from the key switch. I still don't know why there are two wires coming into the one positive side of the pump. We worked on the110 volt system all day. Bypassed th...

I've ordered the replacement gaskets and the new covers, etc. Let's see if that fixes the problem.
Thanks for the reply

Re: Mystery Leak
I am calling my mechanic to look at it. Still can't locate. I've also sent a message to Westerbeke to see if they have any ideas. Lots of chatter about the broken fuel bracket. I don't know if there is to be gasket material on the upper bolt. Maybe that is where it's coming from. As to the water. I'...

Green stuff from water leaks?
I am getting set for a haul out and in advance of my trip to the Abaco Islands in April. I've been off the boat for some time and when I started to work on clean up I found all these green corrosion telltales. Looks like slow leaks over time. Around water pump and Heat Exchanger ends and fittings. A...

Mystery Leak
I have an oil leak that is coming from the area of the fuel filter (engine) bracket. For the life of me I can't figure it out.
I seems to be getting worse over time. Any ideas? I have attached a pic that shows the drip.
Thanks in advance for any help

Re: Stress Cracks on Anchor Locker Hatch
I too have now found sstress cracks on the tranoum of S/V Soixante. There were just a few last year. Now there are several. I don't know what's causing this because they are not in a stress area. Maybe sun damage? Any input and repair ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Heat Exchanger Bracket Broken
Up date from earlier post. It was simply loose. After I ordered the new style bracket from Catalina Direct, I took off the old bracket only to find it was not broken. Got a new bolt, washers, reattached grounding wire for H/E and reinserted. I used a zip tie to hold the backet together while re inst...

Re: Heat Exchanger Bracket Broken
My H/E bracket broke again. Replaced one time, welded another time. I'm going to try the clamp brackets pictured in the posts. Any other ideas? Really hard to reach the bolts...
Maybe the new clamp type brackets will be easier to tighten.
Thanks for any input.

Re: Heat Exchanger Bracket Broken
Has anyone replaced the original brackets with the 3" stainless steel/hose clamp/ pad set offered by Catalina Direct? Part Z4365.
My H/E brackets appear to be broken, again. I've welded them and also replaced them. We have about 1,200 hours on 35mB.
Thanks for any input.

Re: I need a new engine!! ugh
Thanks Bill.
Riser is now installed.
Just guessed at torque on clamp
Could not find wrench smaller than 20 ft lbs.
Anyway, nothing is leaking.
1940 hrs on 13 year old boat. We do motor sail a bit.

Thanks Rick
We will lookout for nearby beacons. The noise does seem to be in the boat, but maybe not.
Also, checked again yesterday, no noise at our dock.
Appreciate any other ideas.
Stay safe!
