For those looking for a new feathering prop. I would highly recommend that you look into EWOL feathering props.

Not sure but they look like my Poly-Planer MRD-60 Waterproof speakers.

I bought them from J&H Products 734-320-0160

Re: High head pressure (HI/PS) error

Try disconnecting the hose from the sea strainer to the pump and connecting a hose to it and flush out the system under pressure.
I have had to do this twice in 13 years. Especially bad in areas of high algae growth.

Re: Prop replacement

Sorry it has taken me so long to furnish details of the EWOL Feathering prop that I purchased in December 2017. I have been battling health issues that prevented me from testing the prop. See 5 December and 6 December post. I have a 16” wheel set at 17* which equates to 9.2 inches. Took the boat out...

I hired a dock side fuel polishing company to polish my contaminated fuel 8 years ago. Be clean ever since. Worth the money.

Re: Prop replacement

Re: EWOL Prop I failed to mention a few facts about the EWOL Prop that others have asked about. 1. I have a 16” wheel with factory set theoretical best pitch. 2. The brass bushings are easily replaceable and ordered on line. 3.The cost was 2450 euros shipped direct. 4. The prop can be shipped painte...

Re: Prop replacement

I just replaced my fixed prop with a EWOL feathering prop. I have not splashed the boat as it is under going hurricane repairs. I will post results when I put her in the water. It is made of a stainless steel alloy with adjustments of .025 degrees vs 2.0-2.5 degrees in other adjustable props. Under ...

Re: Headliner discolration

I have found that Mr. Clean MajicErasers and lots of rubbing will take off the discoloration without the bad effects of acetone. Wipe well with a wet rag and follow with wet rag often.

I will report later as to the long term effectiveness.

Re: Raymarine Autopilot

The installation manual for the PD 500 Flux gate compass dictates the installation location should be: 1. On boat centerline 2. As far away from ferris material as possible 3. As close to the center of gravity as possible 4. Away from vibration. I would look in the forward berth under the bed port s...

Re: Replacement of Raymarine Rl 70c radar chartplotter with

I have a Raymarine ST60 that showed the same symptoms. You can call Raymarine Tech and they will provide you with the voltage readings for each wire on the system. Knowing the voltages, you can test each item,(instrument, anemometer)to determine which component is bad.Turns out that the mast top &qu...

Re: Transmission Position When Sailing?

I just talked (16 Sep. 2014) to Fred Hutchenson at PSI and he said that it does not matter if the transmission free wheels on our boats. It is only a problem if the boat planes and sucks the water out.

Rudder removal

I need to replace the cutlass bearing on by boat which will involve removing the shaft. After reading post on the subject, I see that rudder removal is necessary. Can anyone tell me what is involved in its removal and installation? Has anyone accomplished shaft removal without dropping the rudder? R...

I had what sounds like, a similar problem, that was solved by changing the coolant.
Coolant was old and lost its effectiveness. Be sure to use RED coolant.
Hope this helps

Re: ENGINE NOISE-DAMPER REPLACEMENT?

I purchaced the Sachs part but after talking to Leigh Weiss I called Fred Huchinson at PYI. He convinced me to replace the damper plate with a PYI high deflection plate, part # 22 AA4. It has a 30* deflection, thus better absorbtion, cost $215. Will install 12 November.

Sailed my 350, Hull 294, in the Harvest Moon Regatta, from Galveston to Port Aransas, this week end. Seas and winds started out light but around 1 am. the seas began to build as the winds kicked up. For the next 20 hours or so, the winds ranged from 24-37.5 kt and seas looked as big as a house and c...
