Re: Replacing Fixed Ports
I see Catalina Direct has a Dow Corning Sealant for fixed Plexiglas windows. And it is black. Is this the stuff to use for window rebedding?

Re: Replacing Fixed Ports
Hi Al, My port side fixed window just sprang a leak. I can see how the existing "caulking" has separated near the rear area. I know I need to remove and rebed but what is the right material to use to rebound? Is it the 3M VHB tape that you mentioned? Did the tape work in the case of this w...

Re: Fresh water in bilge from water heater cold water inlet
I finally got the time to remove the shelf attached to the top of the hot water heater. Sure enough, the right angle hot water return fitting was cracked, causing a slow and steady leak. Once I touched it, it really let loose. A trip to Lowes later and everything is fixed.

Re: Hull 467 need to change out batteries
Wow, five years for lead acid? Since I'm a live-aboard, I opted for the AGMs. Downside: expense, weight and awkward size. Upside: still running after nine plus years with no out-gassing when they need periodic maintenance for water. Neglecting that could be costly (and I did do that once). Lifting ...

Re: Fresh water in bilge from water heater cold water inlet
I just recently have experienced the same thing. Mine is a very slow leak which actuates the fresh water pump. Since it's so slow, it's hard to track down. I mopped the bilge out and saw water arriving from the forward section but the fittings in the sink and shower appear good. Very vexing. Both ho...

Hose
My dealer was very responsive and quick to get me an improved replacement. Make contact and they should get it to you post-haste. Funny how the original units are slowly putzing out, almost on cue. I was lucky; both my hoses went out while I was using the faucet. I suppose it was the "on" ...

Finally attempted anti-siphon installation
I actually had the kit for months while I built up enough energy to attempt installation and during that time, I noted the observations made by many others and I learned much. I tender my thanks to those brave pioneers that blazed the trails for me to later trod. I thought I would start by installin...

non-skid cleaning
Hi Ken, We all share the same issue. My old 36 also had the waffle pattern and it cleaned well. I notice that this texture just holds on longer but I eventually wear the "spots" out after two or more cleanings. On the boarding area, I have a hand brush for the elbow grease approach. For my...

Check out the bulletin
Tim April IV's link is right on. I downloaded the service bulletin and found that I had a knife bend (incorrect and subject to breakage) and called the number on the bulletin. Very good description of the bends in the bulletin. They sent me one in three days and it has a radius bend that reduces the...

Concur
George,
I agree with Tim as to the RPMs and speed, although I have the upgraded three blade prop. Punch it up to 2800rpm and you should be pretty near 7 knots more or less, depending on variables.
I've also seen the "surfing" speeds, hitting a 9 on a downward swell.

Lesson learned
I was somewhat disappointed with the Adler-Barbour system that Catalina had installed on our C36 MKII and I finally installed a cold plate system that really kicked it down a notch...actually, several. When we chose the C350, we decided  to have our dealer install the cold plate system during ...

galley hose follow up
The operative word in your statement was "contortionist". I spend pretty much most of one or two hours hunched/bent/pushing/squeezing everywhere within that small compartment. I left the faucet attached and dealt with the fitting that came down from the faucet mount under the sink, after t...

My two cents
I've seen references on other sites or periodicals, which I can't remember. But someone felt confident that the source of the moisture was from the pedestal and a lack of a moisture seal on the inside bottom. I have not yet had a chance to examine this location, but I believe the equipment is secure...

Tim, Thanks for the picture. I've forgotten how it looks down there. I can see from looks that there is little if any room for a shaft zinc. My diver has actually traded out the original bolt for a hex socket bolt for that added torque, with a lock washer to boot. The single bolt in the center of th...

Cone Zinc
Hi All, I know this has bounced around on Sail$%&# but I'm really wondering if I'm in a small minority of C350 owners losing their cone zinc somewhere in between two locations. I'm thinking about buying a bag full of bolts and lock washers for the diver. Of course, if there was room, I'd love to...
