Re: Water Supply Valve
I replaced one of mine a couple years ago, easy job. Got the valve from Ace Hardware online and picked it up at my local Ace. Price was very reasonable so I got 2 and used 1 and 1 spare. Same exact valve and easy swap. I have the spare in hand and it is a Zurn Qest 3/8" x 3/8" globe valve....

Re: Hatch pull ring
I'm In the ocean, but the original lasted 17 years and there are no SS units that will fit without cutting the hatch to make room for a thicker unit. I'll take this and wait for it to fail again in the future.
Thanks for your help.

"Perko 1232DP2CHR Round Flush Ring Pull - 2" - Chrome Plated Zinc
This is indeed the correct item. I ordered from Amazon and went to the boat today to verify. Fits perfectly!
Thanks for all the help people.

Hatch pull ring
The pull ring on my port propane locker has broken off making it difficult to open the hatch. Wondering where to get a replacement that won't require too much modification of the hatch to install?

winch covers
I'm looking for some decent winch covers for the main(jib sheet) winches that won't break the bank. So far all I can find are covers costing ~$50 each, which seems a bit pricey. If anyone has any info where I could look I would appreciate it. I've looked on Amazon, WM, and Defender. BTW- what size a...

Re: magnetic bird deterrent
That seems a bit pricey, but I haven’t used them.
I use a Gull Sweep. Use the spare halyard and position it a foot or two over the boom when we leave the boat. Works well along with the zip ties pointing straight up along the spreaders.

water temp sender
Does anyone have a part # or where to buy the temp sensor that screws into the T-stat housing?
Mine has "gone to ground". 8*)
It looks like 1/8 pipe thread, is that correct?
Thanks,
Ed

Re: Oberdorfer repair instructions
Does anyone remember how to get the water and oil seal out? Has anyone successfully replaced the carbon bushing? If so, what's the procedure? I'm asking here because I have my pump apart and it's not obvious how the bushing and/or the seals come out, or go back in. I've looked everywhere and can't f...

Oberdorfer repair instructions
My M202 pump started weeping last year, so I removed it and am ready to repair it with the kit I purchased. I know I saw the video on YouTube, but now it's nowhere to be found. Does anyone have a saved link or maybe the video itself? Barring that, does anyone have written instructions?
Thanks,
Ed

Re: A/B CU100
I just replaced my 2006 AB compressor and it did not have the self sealing fittings. You have to buy the fitting adapters to make them self sealing, about $200+ dollars from West Marine. As far as the spinning fitting you might have broken the solder joint that attaches the end fitting to the tube. ...

New/used jib?
My 16+ year old jib finally split along the whole seam at the UV protection. It's happened before and has been repaired several times. I'm thinking now would be a good time to start looking for a new one. I'm looking for recommendations for sailmakers or suppliers that are reasonably priced and are ...

strange instrument behavior
I’m investigating an event that happened yesterday just before entering Woods Hole on the way home to Cataumet. The instruments were showing symptoms of a high resistance short. The tach was at 1000 instead of 2000, the water temp was at 100 instead of 165, the voltage was at 10 instead of 13.5 and ...

Re: coolant recovery tank cap
That’s the one! I searched for that part number and found 2 sources for it, deiselpartsdirect and westerbeke. No go on Amazon or eBay. I ordered 3 for $1.50 and shipping was $16.50. Oh well. The only other thing I could find was the complete tank at $54. Hopefully this won’t happen again anytime soo...

Mine melted in an overheat situation after the v-belt died. Wondering if anyone knows where to source this part without buying the whole tank?
I looked and couldn't find one.

Re: Icom helm mic
Correct, full vhf replacement since you won't find a mic for the radio. Antenna connections are pretty much standard for vhf radios. What I found is that the wiring extension which was needed for the original helm mic, was already there. There is a 30 ft.(?) extension cable needed to hook up the hel...

I'm going to replace the compressor for the fridge and am wondering which connectors I have? It's a 2006 boat #399. Do I have the quick connect fittings at the compressor or the "one-shot" fittings? If one shot type, does anyone know the procedure to install the quick connect fittings? Tha...

Salon fixed window shattered
I discovered port side jib track car had impacted the aft plexiglass window enough to shatter it, actually went through it. These are the large fixed windows in the main cabin, one forward and one afte on each side. I looked at Catalina Direct and didn’t find any. Anyone have a clue or do I need to ...
