Re: Cost to replace dodger, bimini snd filler

We replaced our canvas on the dodger, connector and bimini. We also added some clear windows and the existing side panels were also worked into the new canvas. Total cost about $7,000. A superb job, we cannot complain. That was by Inner Harbor, Oriental, NC.

Re: Newbie heads out

Good suggestion from Vindaloo. But we only had a spinnaker halyard which is the one I presume you are referring to. The advantage of dong that also is that you can raise the dinghy and open the fore hatch for a cooling night breeze. Just ensure your screens are in place!

Re: Newbie Embarking from Tampa to Titusville

Have also done the trip, but in reverse, Brunswick, GA to Pensacola via Tampa. We took the Drake Channel and had no problems, but we were heading SW and not NE. Too few entries to get out of wether on that route. Have also done some of the inside route down to Largo with no issues of depth, never tou...

Re: Newbie Embarking from Tampa to Titusville

There are so many posts I am not sure what the original was. I have C350 #387, 2005 model. Have done the Brunswick, GA to Pensacola, FL via the Keys, St Pete and Appalachicola as a delivery in a C375 (C350 on mild dose of steroids). We completed that in July. I would definitely go down the Drake Cha...

Re: Dripping sealant from cabin top hatches?

Russ: We had the same thing. We had put some windshield reflectors in each of our hatches. Just laid them on the screen mesh. We realized that they were reflecting the already not sun back into the glue or sealant, whatever it is. I used a plastic scraper and it cam off. No leaks so I did not reseal...

Re: Sirius XM InstallXM Install

The 3 wires originated from the Sirius docking station for the Onyx unit and are: 1. black to a cigarette lighter that I have tied into the panel with plastic ties that provides the power; 2. antenna wire to the black collapsible antenna. That wire was actually run in the space between the deck and ...

Re: Sirius XM InstallXM Install

I installed Sirius XM radio a year ago. Used the portable unit with its docking station that I located in the shallow shelf above the breaker panel, ran the 3 wires down into the breaker panel. Power uses a car 12V cigarette lighter fitting. Audio is run to the stereo unit in the same space. The ant...

Re: Problems unfurling the Main

I had the same problem. By far the biggest issue is the angle of the boom compared to the horizontal. The back of the boom needs to be about 5-7 degrees above horizontal. I have a solid boom vang that needed to be released to allow this.

Re: Second Bilge Pump

Maybe this is not normal but I have an unused through hull located just behind the transmission. Across from the one used for water intake for the engine. It could be easily accessed by running a hose from the bilge to the rear through the drainage holes on the starboard side of the bilge. The curre...

Re: Turning circles CCW when I let go of wheel

Four years ago our boat would arbitrarily do hard turns counter clockwise when auto pilot was engaged. Never knew when it would happen. When it did happen the wheel seemed to lock and we had to take off the auto. Raymarine told us to send in the course computer. They found a connection issue, fixed ...

Re: Transmission clicking

Just to confuse y’all a wee bit more. The clicking is heard on both sides but more pronounced on the starboard side, no fuel tank. Also most pronounced if stand on a dock directly in front of the bow?? Now that is making no sense at all.

Transmission clicking

I recently ran out of coolant and subsequently found we had a breach in our head gasket. Surprising since we have only 533 hours on the 2005 engine as a result of Lake usage in the past. Once the head gasket was replaced, we noticed a regular clicking at the rear of the boat. It only occurs when the...

We have been under it twice in 2016 and did not touch the VHF antenna. Other posted advice is good.
